Campaigners have mobilised to stop the proposal to produce gas from the shale deposits by the controversal 'fracking' method: This is where a cocktail of chemicals, sand and water is used under high pressure to smash or 'frack' the shale deposits some 1500-4000m underground. This method has been know to contaminate ground water.

Visit my site to discover the top ten myths of shale gas. And poisoned water is only one of them.
ReplyDeleteShale gas is not perfect. But it can provide a 50% or more reduction in CO2 compared to coal generation. It can do that with no subsidy at all, and do it far quicker than renewables. Energy efficiency is key, but unlikely to offer savings of more than 10 to 15%. Shale gas, properly regulated is the best thing to happen to the environment, consumers and the economy in years.
We have a site on facebook called 'Fracking Hell (UK)' where you can find information, support and discussions from people and anti-fracking groups all round the world. We would welcome your participation so we can coordinate opposition to this awful process.

Check out Nick 'Greedy' Grealy on LinkedIn to see where he is coming from. He is well known to us at No Fracking UK. He stands to make a fortune from Shale Gas. He is as poisonous as Frack chemicals.
