Seedy Saturday 17th Feb
We had stalls from Walmer WI promoting their Green Heart appeal, Sandown Castle Community Garden with some wonderful home made bird boxes (and great value!) produced by John Ford and our colleagues from Deal Hop Farm who were doing a roaring trade with their rhizomes.
Many, Many thanks to the Landmark Ukulele Club who provided the entertainment and to Vicky & Sonja for the Cake making.

Deal Seedy Saturday 14th May
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated/swap plants, played Ukes or made cakes for today's Seedy Saturday at the Landmark Community Group here in Deal.
Very cold northerly wind meant we did not have the quantity of people today that we usually have but this did mean we had time to talk about what Deal With It is doing in Deal for longer which was really good.
We had £36 in donations - all money goes to Garden projects at Landmark or Deal Station
Especial thank you to the Uke Club based at the Landmark for playing us - Those Uke hands needed regular warm up breaks in the Cafe :)
All our pics are here
Our next event will be a Beach Clean on Sunday 26th June - We will be organising a Summer shindig in August.

Deal Seedy Saturday 12th March
Deal’s next Seedy Saturday Seed Swap will be on Saturday 12th
March in the Landmark Garden on Deal High st.
The Swap will start at 11am and finish around 1pm.
The Seedy Saturday is one of four that Deal With IT (Deal’s
local community Green group) runs over the year.
It is a great opportunity for people to get growing some of
their own food and share knowledge & experience.
Please bring Seeds to swap – they should be fairly recent
(last growing season), labelled and tell us a story how you got on with them.
There will also be stalls from AnSugan (recycled and re
imagined clothes) as well as local raw chocolatier Chocolution
We also hope to have an mass Ukulele busk via
the Ukulele Club members based at the Landmark centre to entertain us.
So why bring a Ukulele (as well as some seeds) to join in !

DealWali - Deal's Festival of Light in the Landmark Garden Saturday 19th Dec
We are organising a special 'Seedy Saturday' event to round off the end of another year in the Landmark Garden and to celebrate the winter solstice.
With DealWali our own festival of light we want to cover the garden in candle light and bring the community together for some music & song, storytelling, seasonal fayre and just being together.Last year's event - A thousand lights to chase the darkness - was very successful (last year's report here) and great fun.
The event is free - we will collect for donations but much rather people contribute by bringing jars and tea lights, food to share and a warm spirit
There will be seasonal fayre to eat and drink, lots of music from Deal Hoodeners, Sue Watson, JonnieLane & the Sunshine Ukes; storytelling with Roisin Murray;
We will have also local forager Lucia Stuart of the 'Wild Kitchen' with edible delights from our shoreline (and hopefully some oysters!);
Chocolution local raw chocolate specialists with their foraged chocs (
Kentish
Cobnut and Milk Chocolate
Sea
Buckthorne Toffee and Dark Chocolate
Rosehip
Jelly and Dark Chocoalte
Hawthorne
Jelly and Dark Chocolate
Meddler
Jelly and Dark Chocolate)
to sample and buy Pete the Rock from SeaCafe with his famous stone readings will be on hand to get some conversations going
Saturday 19th December starts at 4pm and finishes about 6:00pm.
