Sustainable building course in East Kent

Rippledown Environmental Centre at Ringwould are delighted to launch two new course programmes run by the Bay Trust working closely with Mark Saich of Green Building Solutions.

1. Sustainable Construction for Industry

The first in a series of technical courses for industry professionals and their clients. The courses cover retrofit and new build sectors and address a number of key themes:

• Part L and low energy building
• Sustainable building skills
• Introduction to sustainable building (theory and principles)
• Retrofit - for homes and for historic buildings

These courses will all be held at the Trust’s own outstanding example of sustainable construction - the Pines Calyx at St Margarets Bay.

2. Practical Sustainable Living Courses

The second series of courses are practical, hands on courses in sustainable building techniques and permaculture which cover:

• Introduction to straw bale building
• Introduction to clay plaster and render
• Introduction to sustainable building (hands-on practical)
• Permaculture - introduction and design certificate courses

These courses will be held at Rippledown Environmental Education Centre between Dover and Deal
