Deal With It Planning Meeting - Tuesday 15th Nov
We have a open meeting at Deal-ability on Victoria Rd Deal on Tuesday 15th Nov at 7pm.
This is an open meeting to look at ideas and projects that we could initiate in the town to make it a more sustainable community.
Some of these ideas came out of our recent transition supper but please free feel to bring ideas along
The key thing for these ideas is that things that we can do rather than expecting someone else to do; not 'they should do this' but 'We/I can do this'
All Welcome - Tea and Cakes

Deal With It - Autumn Celebration
We had a wonderful time at the Landmark Garden on Saturday at our Autumn Celebration:
Imogen's Mini Jackets with hedgerow sauce went down very well, as did our array of cakes with gleaned apples. Fiona from Kent Energy Champions did a great trade in energy monitors and we had colleagues from Deal Farmers Market at their regular market at the Landmark.
A big thank you to the Landmark Ukulele Club of whom 20 played for us in very cold conditions (The club meets every Friday at the Landmark at 10-12 and is free to join & welcomes newbies).
Thanks to everyone who donated food, wood, Fairtrade Chocolate, apples and pears, plants and their time. We raised £82.70 for the Garden

Transition in action: Ungersheim
Great small film on how one village in a ex-mining community responded to climate change and renewal.
Marie-Monique Robin's new film 'Qu’est-ce qu’on attend‘ (‘What are we waiting for?’) tells the story of Transition in the Alsace village of Ungersheim

Kent Gleaning next week
Please share far and wide! We’ve just discovered TONNES OF APPLES going to waste on 3 more farms in Kent! We’re going on 3 epic missions to save as many as possible of those tasty fruits from going to waste, and we NEED YOUR HELP.
We’re going gleaning on Thursday 10th November, Sunday 13th November AND Tuesday 15th November to farms near Canterbury. We’re inviting volunteers to the farms to help save all those amazing apples for the fantastic charity FareShare. Witness the colossal waste first-hand, and have a great social day out for a fantastic cause.
We cover travel expenses from Ashford, Maidstone, Dover and across Kent – just check with us first. We will aim to run these gleans between 10am-4pm (TBC)
To join any of the upcoming Kentish apple gleans, sign up here! http://bit.ly/2dhcIJB
You will then be sent more info on the gleaning day, closer to the time. For more info, please contact Kent@feedbackglobal.org
If you can't join us for this glean, please do sign up to our gleaning list - we're gleaning all round the UK, and we'll let you know when gleaning days are coming up near you: http://feedbackglobal.org/gleaning-volunteer-form/
Gleaning Network is part of From Farm to Food
