Deal With It Today: October 2026

Thank you to our 18 volunteers on today's

Walmer Castle Beach Clean.

Glorious day to be on the beach which was in very good condition.

Our next community beach clean is on Sunday 15th November meeting at Sandown Castle Community Garden Deal Kent

Deal Hop Farm

In 2017 we created a patchwork hop farm made up of peoples’ gardens, allotments, and community gardens & spaces in and around the town.

Now in our sixth season with over 265 sites and over 440 people involved. Our local brewing partner Time & Tide Brewing has used our hops in 18 different style of beer which was available in local pubs, cafes, shops and even the local record store!

In doing this we also produced a fantastic community spirit involving several hundred people in the town in the hop harvest. It is a great example of ‘local food’ linking local growers with, local brewery and local pubs.
